Change for terminations taking place before 12 weeks is a first for the UK and has been welcomed by pro-choice campaigners

Scotland will become the first part of the UK to allow women to take the abortion pill in their own homes.

In a move welcomed by pro-choice campaigners, the Guardian understands that an order from Scotland’s chief medical officer, Catherine Calderwood, is imminent to make the drug misoprostol available for home administration.
